Drummer/producer Steve Bryant is a seasoned and career musician- offering his live musicianship to touring electronic acts. He is known as the touring drummer for Benzos, Michna, Eliot Lipp, and Young & Sick providing a backdrop of innovative beats and loops. But going by the moniker CRU The Dynamic, Bryant has dropped his new EP, The Quick. From the very first track, “New Things,” Bryant’s juxtaposition of dynamic beats and colorful overtones is hypnotic and riveting. One thing that makes The Quick such a compelling EP is Bryant’s frequent use of explosive, bass-driven beats and multi-layered loops- as heard on “Here At The Institute” and “Blossom.”  Basking in a flurry of afro-beats and hip hop undertones, Bryant injects a slew of bright melodies and repetitive sounds into the mix on “Ooh My” and “Find Us Here.” On The Quick, Bryant renders a unique and collective medley of electronic music. The arrangements and loops are filled with buoyant hooks while remaining fluid and shape-shifting. This isn’t exactly the type of electronic music you dance to, but is the perfect soundtrack to an kick-back evening.
