SR previously reported that there would be an upcoming tribute to hardcore-punk legend Raymond “Raybeez” Barbieri, the frontman of Warzone. Now the final details have been revealed. As previously mentioned, the show will happen October 1st at NYC’s Tompkins Square Park and will be a free event. It will go down from 1 PM to 6 PM and will feature members of Warzone, Kill Your Idols, Fireburn, Shutdown, and Regulate. There will also be two guest DJ’s; Merciless (Howie Abrams & Ill Bill) and Frank 2 Far. Donations are suggested, which can be made at GoFundMe. A portion of all proceeds will go to Safe Horizon, an organization who’s motto is “Moving victims of violence from crisis to confidence.” The tribute is brought to you by Black N’ Blue Productions and The New York Hardcore Chronicles. You can RSVP to the event via Facebook.
Barbieri’s life was cut short after a fatal bout with pneumonia 20 years ago. And since forming in the early 80’s, Warzone released a slew of albums and EPs. Their most notable album was 1987’s Don’t Forget The Struggle, Don’t Forget The Streets. You can stream it below:
